NORFOLK HARBORFEST ’22

America’s largest and oldest free maritime festival, the iconic Norfolk Harborfest® enters its 46th year in 2022. For three memorable days along the Norfolk city center waterfront June 10-12, Harborfest celebrates all the elements that make Norfolk & Hampton Roads a historic maritime and naval community. On land and sea, thrilling activities and live music take center stage at Harborfest, including the annual Parade of Sail with international tall ships, one of the biggest fireworks displays in the East Coast, a fascinating drone show, interactive family games and activities, Navy exhibits and demonstrations, artisan food and beverages, live national and regional shows, and much more. ROAD CLOSURES:

All closures are from 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 12, unless otherwise stated.

Bouch Street

o Southbound – Brambleton Avenue to City Hall Avenue will remain open. The southbound median turn lane will remain open from City Hall Avenue to Plume Street for garage access.

o Northbound – Main Street to Brambleton Avenue will remain open.

Waterfront promenade

o Eastbound – Will be closed from Main Street and Martin’s Lane for the event. All lanes from Atlantic Street to Saint-Paul Boulevard will remain open.

o Westbound – Will be closed from Atlantic Street to Main Street for the organization of the event.

Martin’s Alley

o Southbound – Main Street to Waterside Drive will be closed to through traffic. Southbound access to the TowneBank/Prince Books parking lot and the World Trade Center loading dock will be maintained at all times.

Atlantic Street

o Northbound – Will remain open from Waterside Drive to Main Street.

o Southbound – Will be closed to through traffic from Main Street to Waterside Drive.

Commercial premises

Will be open to traffic from Waterside Drive to Main Street for the duration of the event closure.

Elizabeth River Trail

Elizabeth River Trail users should follow the downtown festival detour from Thursday, June 9 at 5 p.m. until Sunday, June 12 at 11 p.m. Detour signage will be in place. Please click here for a detour map.

PARKING REMOVAL:

Waterfront promenade

• Eastbound – Martin’s Lane to Atlantic Street from 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 12

• Westbound – Atlantic Street to Martin’s Lane from 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 12

Atlantic Street

Parking will be removed northbound from Waterside Drive to Main Street from 9 a.m. Thursday, June 9 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 12.

Commercial premises

All parking lots will be removed from Waterside Drive to Main Street to be used for taxis and rideshares from 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 12.

Main Street

Parking will be removed from Main Street east and west between Boush and Granby streets from 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10 to 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12. Parking will remain on Main Street eastbound between Granby Street and Martin’s Lane. Parking will be removed from Main Street eastbound from Atlantic Street to Commercial Place for tour bus drop-off and pick-up.

Parking will be removed from Main Street eastbound from Martin’s Lane to St. Paul Boulevard from 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. This includes the taxi area in front of the Marriott, which can be moved southbound to Atlantic Street.

Plume Street

Parking will be removed westbound from Granby Street to Boush Street for festival support parking from 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9 to 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 13.

Bouch Street

Parking will be removed northbound between Main Street and Brambleton Avenue from 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10 to 6:00 a.m. Sunday, June 12 to facilitate police and fire department access.

Brooke Avenue

Parking will be removed eastbound and westbound between Granby Street and Boush Street from 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 12 to support police and fire department access.

Randolph Street

Parking will be removed from rue Plume to avenue de l’hôtel de ville from 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9 to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 for the parking of festival support vehicles.

Rader Street

Parking will be removed southbound south of Front Street from 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9 to 11:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12 for Norfolk Police Harbor Patrol access.
