The campaign, which began on Monday, features four Elves of Fort Morgan who will frequent a participating store each week. Buyers are encouraged to visit local stores; find the elf; take a picture of the elf in the store; and submit the photo with their name, phone number and email address to [email protected] for a chance to enter a weekly raffle.

No purchase is necessary to participate. An individual has up to four chances to enter each week – one entry per elf found. Each week, city staff will also post a “clue” to the Town of Fort Morgan Facebook page as to the whereabouts of the elves. Clues will also be mentioned on B106 and KFTM radio stations and published once a week in the Fort Morgan Times.

The elves will stay at the participating business for a week before finding a new store shelf. A wide variety of businesses both in the city center as well as in other popular shopping areas of the city are part of the holiday promotion.

“It’s something the whole family can enjoy when they do their Christmas shopping,” said Steve Glammeyer, City Manager of Fort Morgan. “By spending your money at Fort Morgan, you are supporting the locals as well as our entire community, and you also have the chance to win a prize. “

The last day of the promotion is December 24 at midnight.

Sandy Schneider-Engle, economic development specialist at the City of Fort Morgan, said she hopes this season will be one in which priceless memories are created.

“In addition to having fun trying to locate the elves, we encourage our residents and visitors to explore the wide range of merchandise available in the various stores,” said Schneider-Engle. “They can also watch a free Christmas movie, help make the chili, take our holiday train to City Park, or enjoy a number of different activities planned for the Christmas Capital on the Plains.”
