(Warsaw, NY) – This was a banner that ran this year as part of the Wyoming County Chamber’s annual Buy Local promotion “Shop Wyoming and Win”. We are pleased to announce the selection of four lucky winners who were drawn on Tuesday February 8, 2022.

This year’s winners are: Rebecca Goewey of Gainesville, won a rocking recliner donated by Harding’s Furniture, Flooring & Mattress in Penthouse; Becky Biddle of East Aurora, won the Gas Grill offered by Ace Hardware Warsaw/Attica; Elma’s Ken Deppen, won a “Dine out Wyoming Gift Package”; and David Turski of Attica, won a “Dine out Wyoming Gift Package”.

Wyoming County Chamber and Tourism holds the annual raffle at the regular February meeting of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors. City supervisors Jerry Davis of Covington, Doug Berwanger of Arcade, Ellen Grant of Bennington and Jim Brick of Perry helped draw winning tickets at the meeting.

“On behalf of the Chamber and the community, we congratulate all of the winners of this year’s Shop Wyoming and Win local promotion,” said Chamber Speaker Scott Gardner. “Thank you to the many businesses that have participated this year with support and setting up drop boxes. We also thank everyone who shopped locally in Wyoming County as it was essential to help out our local businesses this holiday season.

“The awards are made possible through the strong support of local county businesses. Special thanks to Ace Hardware of Attica and Warsaw for the generous donation of the gas grill, and Harding’s Furniture, Flooring & Mattress of Attica for the donation of the Rocker Recliner,” concluded Gardner. “These businesses have generously donated prizes, and we encourage shoppers to stop by to support these remarkable, small, local family businesses all year round.”

This year marks the eleventh year the Chamber has sponsored holiday promotions through local Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce store programs. After weeks of planning and delivering the entry boxes to small businesses across the county, the contest began November 1, 2021.

A record 1,164 shoppers participated submitting receipts totaling over $1.3 million and generating estimated sales taxes of $110,181 during the promotional period. Entrants were required to keep receipts for purchases made in Wyoming County between Nov. 1 and Christmas Eve 2021. They then submitted receipts by mail, in person, or in drop boxes by the early January deadline. . For every $50 of purchases made in Wyoming County, participants were eligible for entry into the draw which took place on February 8, 2022.
